摘要

The present paper attempts to develop a reliability model figuring out the two contrasting situations/scenarios of conditional warranty i.e. before and after the expiry of warranty period. The study tries to analyze the situation where end user of thesystem has to bear the charges during the warranty period in case system failure happened due to reasons not stipulated in warranty conditions. It has also been analysed that if it is discovered during inspection that the cause of failure is covered under warranty conditions, then the repair/replacement of damaged part is done free of cost by the manufacturer. But, on the contrary, if it is discovered during inspection that the failure happened for the negligences of the user and warranty conditions does not protect against those negligences, then the user has to bear the costs of repair/replacement. If the system failure happens after the expiry of the stipulated warranty period, the user bears the charges of repair or replacement on its own. The analysis for reliability and availability has been carried out using regenerative point technique.
