Late last year, I was delighted to be notified that I was chosen to lead the Australia Region Editorial Board and edit this Special Issue of Advanced Powder Technology. The appointment of two new Executive Editors and Editorial Boards from Korea and Australasia is one step being taken by Advanced Powder Technology to make the journal more truly international. The appointment of the new Boards along with the new publisher (Elsevier) will encourage submissions and readership from a wider audience. As the submissions to APT grow and come increasingly from a more diverse group of scientists and engineers, the quality and impact of the papers in APT will naturally rise. I am sure you will find this Special Issue is a step in that direction.
