摘要

For the Network-on-Chip with best effort mechanism, a design method, which can find the minimal network interface buffer size to satisfy the restriction of the buffer overflow probability, is proposed. First, considering the application traffic behavior, a relationship between the network interface buffer size and the overflow probability is developed. Then, a buffer sizing algorithm is proposed to minimize the network interface buffer size. Finally, we validate the method by simulation and compare it with the-state-of-art methods. The simulation results show that: Our method in this paper can find the minimal network interface buffer size to satisfy the restriction of the buffer overflow probability, and cost less buffer resources compared with the-state-of-art methods.
