Feedback Decoupling Technology of Fuzzy Configuration Based on Generalized Mapping for Complex Equipment

Configuration design plays an important role to respond the demand-driven rapid design. In configuration design, customer requirements are considered as the input, and the bill of materials are considered as the output. Because of the diversity of customer demands and the complexity of product structures, it is almost impossible to realize the direct mapping from the customer demands to the CAD models of product structures, resulting in large amount of non-standard parts and hence extra design work. This study is aimed to build a bridge between customer demands and CAD models, making the direct correlation feasible. Firstly, the behavior domain composed of multi-granularity structures is introduced into the generalized mapping. Secondly, the mapping from customer domain to functional domain is supported by the set of characteristic attributes. Furthermore, with the mapping from behavior domain to customer domain, the feedback decoupling technology contributes to solve the coupling issues of fuzzy configuration. In practice, we developed an integrated design platform with our proposed method to implement the decoupling design of precision plastic injection molding equipment. This study is of practical importance to the design of large and complex equipment in petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
