Investigation on Title Panel Data Extraction in Engineering Drawings and Automatic Generation System of Three Tables

In this paper, the data structure of title panel and BOM information in engineering drawing was analyzed, and the collected concourse based on the describing information cell was put forward. A method of extracting the management information from the title panel of a DWG file was used by the powerful developing tool ObjectARX. And the text-objects and line-objects within the collection concourse were handled to get the information of the text objects and its position by info cell recognition and format recognition. And also, the development and implement of the three tables' compilation and the generation system automatically based on the BOM, BOS and BOP (i.e., three tables) was accomplished. The info consistency between the engineering drafting and the compilation of three tables was assured based on this method in practical project, and the designing efficiency was enhanced.
