摘要

Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is one type of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). In VANETs, vehicles are connecting to computer networks. VANETs have dynamic nodes in the form of moving vehicles and static nodes in the form of Road Side Units (RSU). Movements of vehicles are limited to road layouts and fast compared to other ad hoc networks. Hence, frequent disconnections are happening in the communication between vehicles due to dynamic and rapidly changing topology. It leads a difficult jobfor routing the packets from source to destination vehicles in VANET. This paper proposes a Stable Routing Protocol (SRP) for Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) for finding a reliable route between source and destination vehicles in VANETs. This proposed unicast routing protocol uses reliable and stable path by introducing Reliability Index (RI) metric.
