Application of Modified Rapid Impact Assessment Matrix (RIAM) For Multi Actor-Sustainability Appraisal of Public Transport (Case: Jabodetabek Area, Indonesia)

Appraisal is an important component in. It is a complex interaction of information, interests and opinions on the one side, and democratic action and political competence on the other side. Public Transport is a special and unique term. The stakeholder of public transport is very broad, and collective efforts to provide and improve public transport services have not been conducted in a rigorous and coordinated way. This study was conducted to apply a "fair" quick impact evaluation method, in this study using the modified Rapid Impact Assessment Matrix (RIAM) which is often used in the EIA, as an assessment instrument on a sustainability appraisal of public transport. Modifying the RIAM method as an assessment instrument of mass transit appraisal process, generally gives good results. It's more comprehensive (involving multi actor and more sustainability criteria) and it produces similar result to that of the other studies' recommendations.
