Deformation of Pirelli F1 Tires in Belgian Grand Prix under investigation

The Italian tire giant Pirelli has launched an investigation into the causes of the strange deformation of its Formula I tires which took place in August this year during the qualifying races of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. Slow motion footage of F1 cars exiting the final chicane revealed standing waves spreading across the tread of rear tire- a sight that has not been seen before. These waves caused extra vibrations that damagedWilliams driver Lance Stroll's rear wing which cost him a second run in the qualifying race.
