China Zhongwang Holdings has acquired a controlling stake in Aluminiumwerk Unna AG (Alu Unna), a well-established aluminium extrusion maker based in Germany that provides high-end extrusion products, mainly seamless tubes, to world-leading aircraft manufacturers. China Zhongwang’s first international acquisition is aimed to strengthen the company’s foothold in the global aviation sector. The transaction would substantially enhance the company’s production capability in seamless extruded aluminium tubes for further optimizing its product mix, said Lu Changqing, president and executive director of China Zhongwang. With Alu Unna’s experience in customer development, the acquisition would accelerate the group’s business expansion into the aviation and automobile industries, therefore enhancing the group’s overall competitiveness. “We look forward to supporting Alu Unna in accelerating its expansion in the long run with extended resources and financial flexibility,” he said.
