Duralum S.A. is a midsized casthouse located in Ecuador. Its monthly billet production is approximately 2,000 tonnes. The droB generation is not exceBive, about three tonnes per day, but management could see that they were losing metal that they felt they could recover. There were no droB proceBors in Ecuador, and management knew they were losing money by not proceBing the material in a more modern manner. In June of 2014 they started discuBions with GPS Global Solutions on what methods they could economically use as a remote site to increase the value of the droB and to avoid creating significant landfill materials. They were storing their droB on site with the goal of both improving their current droB recovery and also of going back and recovering the metal from their past droB generation.
