USDA provides details on $12 billion package of aid to farmers

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue on Monday announced the details behind the Trump administration's $12 billion trade aid package for farmers. The package includes the Market Facilitation Program, which will provide payments to several producers including corn and dairy farmers; a Food Purchase and Distribution Program to purchase commodities that other countries have targeted with retaliatory tariffs; and an Agricultural Trade Promotion Program that will dedicate $200 million to the development of foreign markets.
