摘要

Automakers operating in the U.S. met this week with lawmakers and congressional staff members to push Congress to take a harder line on the administration's Section 232 probe into imports of autos and auto parts. John Bozella, president and CEO of the Global Automakers, said auto industry officials planned to meet on Capitol Hill on Wednesday and Thursday to discuss whether auto imports threaten to impair national security - at issue in the Commerce Department's Section 232 review - and possible next steps for Congress. The "drive-in" will involve employees from international car companies operating across the U.S., Bozella told Inside U.S. Trade on Tuesday. He did not elaborate on which lawmakers the groups planned to meet with.
