Cairns Group: 'Next steps' for WTO ag reform in domestic support, other issues

A group of agriculture exporting countries last week said that domestic agriculture support, especially product-specific support, was a key area for reform at the World Trade Organization, calling on other members to make commitments to reducing trade-distorting support. In a Friday communication, the Cairns Group - 19 countries including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, New Zealand and the Philippines - said its aim was "furthering our negotiations and scoping the potential out-comes" in WTO agriculture negotiations.
