摘要

The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement was designed to benefit women business owners by reducing the cost of transporting goods and services across borders and establishing committees to enhance the participation of underrepresented groups in trade, officials from the three countries said on Tuesday. While women business owners represent about 40 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises globally, they account for just 15 percent of exporting firms, Mexican Ambassador to the U.S. Martha Barcena noted during the Commerce Department's "Women's Global Trade Empowerment" virtual forum. "That shows us the challenges ahead," she added.
