Insider Interview: Bank taking unprecedented actions amid liquidity crisis

The coronavirus pandemic has created "an extreme liquidity need" among U.S. exporters and their customers, prompting the Export-Import Bank to take unprecedented measures, the agency's chief banking officer, Stephen Renna, told Inside U.S. Trade. The Ex-Im Bank last month rolled out four temporary measures to help companies struggling with a lack of liquidity and private-sector financing amid the pandemic. Those were in addition to three initial programs the bank announced earlier in March, and Renna, in an April 10 interview, said more were likely.
