Members of the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity will continue trying to reach consensus over the coming months, eyeing a renewal of the forum's mandate by November. The forum's work has received considerable attention in recent G20 summits in Argentina and Japan. During last year's summit in Buenos Aires, members were called on to produce a "substantive report" complete with concrete policy solutions aimed at mitigating global overcapacity issues by July 1.
