摘要

We thank Stefan Huber-Wagner and coworkers for sharing additional ideas on their data published in the Lancet in 2009 with the scientific community. We are more than happy that our comprehensive review published in Injury induced this dispute, highlighting the unchallenged therapeutic uncertainty and unsolved issues with pan-CT for trauma.We fully agree in confounding by indication, meaning that patients in a poorer physiological state are more likely to be scheduled to pan-CT (thanks to this finding one might refute the common but unjustified assumption that pan-CT should not be applied to subjects in an unstable condition).
