Preoperative embolization of mediastinal Castleman's disease presenting with, stroke

Computed tomography angiography of the neck and brain arteries in a 31-year-old man admitted with acute stroke incidentally demonstrated a 10-cm mediastinal mass. On recovery from the stroke, thoracic computed tomography showed a hypervascular posterior mediastinal mass (Figure 1). Image-guided core biopsy indicated hyaline-vascular type Castleman's disease. Thoracic aortography showed that the tumor was supplied by hypertrophic systemic arteries.
