摘要

The sorption of two hydrophilic and two hydrophobic airborne VOC into aqueous slurries containing up to 50 kg activated carbon/m~3 was carried out in a cables scrubber to determine the effect of adsorbent particles.A reduction and an enhancement of the VOC uptake rate were observed respectively for the hydrophilic and the hydrophobic compounds.A model based on the penetration theory and taking account of the adsorption equilibrium and L-S mass transfer kinetics was developed to interpret the experimental findings.
