摘要

Intensive research has been carried out for some years on eliminating the negative features of siliceous sorbents, especially in biochemical applications, without losing their mechanical resistance. One promising way of increasing the utility of siliceous materials in biochemical processes and chromatographic separations is the formation of a polymer layer on the surface of the supports. This paper presents the possibilities of forming siliceous supports with a surface polymer layer obtained from a dextran-polyimine mixture. Such a layer can be activated by agents routinely used for ligand attachment. The degree of activation depends on the pH and the layer composition. The properties of the investigated materials were found to be similar to those of DEAE-dextran.
