Chalco sets price floor for alumina as WFA market looks for direction

Chalco has made a pricing announcement on alumina, including both metallurgical and non-metallurgical grades, which is expected to improve market sentiment for white fused alumina (WFA) in a complex market characterized by flatlined demand and rising feedstock costs. China’s largest aluminium producer, Aluminum Corp of China (also known as Chalco), has set price floors on deals for non- metallurgical grade alumina at 2,600 yuan ($371) per tonne and for metallurgical grade material at 1,690 yuan per tonne.
