Fastmarkets' price assessment of chemical-grade chromite recorded a dip in the week to Tuesday August 25, after six weeks of stability. The price of chemical-grade chromite dropped by $10 on the low end during the week to Tuesday August 25 following six weeks of stability in a persistently weak market. Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for chromite, chemical, 46% Cr2O3 min, wet bulk, fob South Africa fell to $160-180 per tonne on Tuesday, from $170-180 per tonne previously. Market participants lamented a prolonged period marked by an absence of trading, which has weakened sentiment for the grade.
