Clinical, radiographic and endoscopic observations of oesophageal obstruction in a dog and its surgical treatment

Bones are the most common oesophageal foreign bodies that have been reported in dogs, although fish hooks, rawhide, pieces of plastic or metal and other miscellaneous objects have been recorded (Sale and William, 2006). Oesophageal foreign bodies havebeen retrieved either surgically through oesophagotomy or through endoscopic intervention (Juvet et ah, 2010; Tarns and Spector, 2011). The present case report deals with the clinical, radiographic, endoscopic findings of oesophageal obstruction and its successful surgical treatment in a dog.
