Scientific words, used to describe/express the facts about discoveries and concepts in the field of science and technology have become a immortal because of singleness of meaning. The exponential growth of scientific knowledge requires scientist to constantly invent new words. Latin, Greece and European classical languages have contributed significantly in this regard. The present article discuss in detail the participation of Indian languages to the development of scientific technology right from the pre-indepedence era.
