Water Soluble Fertilisers - ForEfficient and Balanced Fertigation

Specialty Fertilisers (SF) are fully water-soluble solid fertilisers having high content of primary nutrients with low salt index. They may or may not have Secondary/micro-nutrients. These water-soluble fertilisers can be advantageously utilized for foliar feeding and Fertigation, thus helping in precision agriculture. Consumption of water soluble fertilisers is increasing. The consumption was 60,000 tonnes in 2009-10 compared to only 1200 tonnes in 1995 - 96. The paper reviews the inputs required for manufacture of water soluble fertilisers, process technology and quality consideration.
