PLC compatibility allows for a quick change

Northcombe Water Treatment Works currently supplies 30 million litres of clean water every day to South West Water customers. However, increasing demand has meant that, in the near future, the plant will need to increase its output to 50 million litres every day. This will require a major upgrade at the facility. Before this upgrade could happen one obstacle that had to be overcome was to address the limited capacity of the existing Modicon 984-685 PLC which controls almost half of the automation systems at the site.
