Advances in machine tool engineering have brought new opportunities to production, prompting a "rethink" for the manufacture of various components. Multi-tasking machines and driven-tool lathes enable different cutting operations to be performed on one machine. Realising the capabilities of machining a whole part in one setup has been a long-held dream of every manufacturer, particularly for producing small parts where cycle time is short.
