INTRODUCTION: Fighter pilot performance is a complex subject related to all areas of aviation medicine. From a sport-scientific perspective there are two main topics: The influence of physical conditioning on enhancing G-tolerance and the influence of physical conditioning on G-related neck and back painjbased on the fact that the cervical spine is one of the areas most severely affected by +GZ forces. Many investigations have shown that pilots practicing strength training have a lower risk of neck pain. This underlines the hypothesis that muscular strength might be an important factor in reducing strain and preventing neck pain in fighter pilots (Nagai et al, 2014).
