摘要

INTRODUCTION: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a noninvasive approach used in the clinical treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. Recent evidence suggests that tDCS may also be used as a tool to augment cognitive performance in healthy individuals. However, much research is still needed to unravel the neurobiological mechanisms of its reported effects in clinical and laboratory settings. Rodent models are crucial to further our understanding of how tDCS modulates cellular and molecular pathways responsible for tDCS-induced benefits in cognitive processes. METHODS: One week following surgical placement of head electrode on the skull, freely moving male Sprague Dawley rats were subjected to either a single bout of 250mA anodal tDCS or sham stimulation for 30 minutes.
