摘要

Plant wastes or substrates viz. paddy straw, maize cob shell, black gram waste, mungbean kernel, broom leaf and chopped mustard straw were tried for cultivation of P. djmore, and P. sajor-caju. Biological efficiency obtained from each substrate was more than 90%. The highest yield of P. djmore (1100 g/500 g dry substrate, BE 110%) and highest yield of P. sajor-caju (1000 g/500 g dry substrate, BE 100%). was obtained from paddy straw substrate. Others like maize cob shell, black gram waste, mungbean kernel, broom leaf and chopped mustard straw proved to be good substrate for mushroom cultivation. Economic showed that Pleurotus mushroom cultivation was income-generation entrepreneurship that farmers and unemployed youth can easily adopt. A profit of 130 to 242% was observed when 80% of the yield was taken into account.
