Relationship of some generalist predators with their prey plants and prey insects.

Correlation studies were conducted on 9 cotton cultivars (G-27, Ganganagar Ageti, Bikaneri Nerma, RS-875, RST-9, Papui, KH-900, Pusa 8-6 and H 777), 3 insect pests (cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii; jassid, Amrasca biguttula biguttula; and whitefly, Bemisia tabaci), and 3 generalist predators (Propylea dissecta, Brumoides suturalis and Chrysoperla carnea) under field conditions in New Delhi, India [date not given] to determine the relationship of some generalist predators with their prey plants and prey insects. All the predators had no significant correlation with the cultivars. Correlation studies between the insect predators and insect pests showed a positive correlation between P. dissecta and Aphis gossypii and between Brumoides suturalis and Bemisia tabaci.
