Drosera binata: The Forked-leaved Sundew

Robert has been growing and studying carnivorous plants for more than 35 years and has a particular interest in the genus Drosera, a cosmopolitan genus that is most abundant and diverse in Australia.The Forked-leaved Sundew (Drosera binata: Droseraceae) is a robust and distinctive sundew with semi-erect linear petiolate leaves in which the linear leaf branches dichotomously at the junction with the petiole. Each leaf blade may dichotomously divide several more times (like the leaves of Gleichenia ferns, with which it often grows). It is native to wetlands and seeps of the coast and tablelands of south-eastern Australia (Rockhampton to Kangaroo Island), much of Tasmania, a few peaty wetlands on thesouth coast of Western Australia, and throughout New Zealand.
