Infrastructure uplift will unlock Africa

Africa has enjoyed a dramatic increase in popularity as a mining and oil and gas region in recent years with many Australian resources companies finding success investing there. However, despite the obvious rewards on offer from a mining destination with an abundance of high-grade resources, there are still nervous investors who continue to question whether the continent has indeed arrived as the new energy and resource hub for the coming decade.In fact, certain parts of Africa are not unlike the Pilbara region of Western Australia 10-15 years ago when many deposits were not considered commercially viable due to the lack of infrastructure. But a few intrepid corporate souls were willing to invest in the infrastructure that has seen the Pilbara region become the mining hub of Australia's iron ore industry.
