Western Areas Ltd listed on the ASX in 2000, mined first ore from its Forrestania operations seven years later and now, in 2014, is finally debt free. "It has been a hard road but we are bearing the fruits now," Western Areas managing director Dan Lougher told Paydirt. "We have cash in the bank and a strong nickel price in our favour, which gives us some flexibility in projects and exploration spend."
