Assessing property value: using rheology to measure shear resistance, tack and peel strength of pressure-sensitive adhesives

The theological behavior of three different pressure-sensitive adhesives can be well characterized using rheometry. Successful correlations to describe PSA behavior are described. All the data for each PSA was determined from a single time-temperature-superposition (TTS) procedure resulting in significant time and cost savings for the user. Test results were easily transformed using TTS theory and the Cox-Merz rule.
