Apparel Sales at Dept.Stores Fall for Six Straight Years

According to the Japan Depart-ment Stores Association,apparel sales at member stores across Japan fell 4.0% in 2019 compared to the previous year to 1,683.37 billion yen (same store basis),thus falling for the sixth consecutive year.Sales decreased in all apparel categories of men's,women's,children's and other garment items,and the decreases were sharper than the previous year.
