Polyester Staple Fiber Price Hikes Again in April

Major domestic polyester staple fiber (PSF) producers have announced a price rise again,effective April 2005.Toray Industries,Inc.has announced a price rise of 20 yen/kg,while Teijin Fibers Limited (TFJ) has announced a price increase of 16-20 yen for spinning and fiberfill applications and 15 yen for regenerated fibers made of PET (polytrimethylene terephthalate) bottles.Both firms have entered into negotiations with users.TFJ aims to ensure "a price hike of 20 yen even as the minimum requirements" for heat-fusing fibers for nonwovens.
