Scott's Nursery has a high demand for heat. The multi-generational business in Lincoln, N.B., has more than six acres of indoor growing space. "Our glass or plastic walls and roofs offer an R-value around 1.25, so the cold penetrates easily," says Rodney Scott - grandson of Martha and Oliver Scott, who established the operation in 1935. "If the wind blows, we use a lot of energy to keep the greenhouse temperature good for plant growth."
