Kyushu takes first equity LNG cargo from Wheatstone

Japanese utility Kyushu Electric Power has taken delivery of its first equity cargo from Australia's 8.9mn t/yr Wheatstone LNG project. The Grace Barleria arrived at Kyushu's 2,804MW Shin-Oita combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power generation plant on 19 March carrying 60,000t of LNG from the Chevron-led Wheatstone project. Kyushu is entitled to 130,000 t/yr of equity LNG supplies through its 1.83pc share in the Wheatstone and Lago gas fields and its 1.46pc stake in the LNG project.
