Liquefaction spending slumps: IEA

Liquefaction investment slumped last year from peaks in 2014-15 and is expected to be even lower in 2018, the Paris-based IEA says. Spending on liquefaction facilities dropped to $20bn in 2017 from $26-27bn in 2016 and peaking at around $35bn/yr in 2014-15. Investment is expected to drop further to $15bn in 2018 based on investments already sanctioned, the agency says.
