Osaka Gas, Sojitz eye Vietnam’s growing gas market

Japanese gas retailer Osaka Gas and trading frm Sojitz have agreed to co-operate to develop and expand their gas business in Vietnam, where demand is expected to continue to grow as the country’s economy surges. Osaka Gas and Sojitz plan to launch the Sojitz Osaka Gas Energy joint ven- ture in August, aiming to start supplying pipeline gas to the Phu My 3 specialised industrial park in Vietnam’s southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, and eventually LNG. The frm will then expand sales to other industrial parks and major consum- ers, supplying compressed natural gas by tanker truck.
