CNOOC awards 20 positions to new buyer

China’s state-controlled CNOOC has sold 20 positions across its 10 LNG regasifca- tion terminals to Jingran Energy, marking the entrance of a new Chinese LNG buyer in the domestic downstream market. The contract between the two frms begins on 1 April and allows Zhoushan- based Jingran to import 20 LNG cargoes from CNOOC over a fve-year period. Jingran will take delivery of one cargo each quarter over fve years. Half of the supplies, or 10 cargoes, will come from CNOOC’s existing term supply contracts. The delivery period of the 10 cargoes from CNOOC is unclear, as is whether or not Jingran will seek the remaining cargoes independently.
