South Korea’s state-owned Kogas has agreed to buy 1.58mn t/yr of US LNG from BP starting in 2025, with supplies to be sourced from either the Freeport or Cal- casieu Pass LNG export facilities. The agreement has an option for the seller to extend the contract duration by three years, allowing BP to supply LNG to Kogas until 2042 instead of 2039. The estimated cost of the LNG over an 18-year period is $9.6bn.
