Western Australia approves Pluto expansion pipeline

Western Australia’s (WA) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved construction of a pipeline from the ofshore Scarborough gas feld to the 4.3mn t/yr Pluto LNG terminal as part of plans for a 5mn t/yr second liquefaction train. The approval covers only the line’s state component - the onshore part plus up to three nautical miles ofshore. The rest of the 434km pipeline is in federal waters and falls under the jurisdiction of the federal government.
