Tepco boosts LnG storage at Futtsu

Japanese utility Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) has increased LNG storage capac- ity at its Futtsu LNG terminal in Tokyo bay by around 22pc to 632,000t, as part of eforts to accommodate rising deliveries of LNG from the US. Tepco on 22 March commissioned two 125,000 kilolitre (kl) underground LNG storage tanks at Futtsu, adding 250,000kl or 116,000t, to the terminal’s previ- ous 1.1mn kl or 516,000t of storage capacity. The storage capacity expansion is part of the frm’s strategy to improve fexibility in LNG delivery arrangements by boosting overall tank capacity in the face of growing US imports.
