Taqa advances Bergermeer expansion plans

Abu Dhabi's state-controlled energy firm Taqa will submit a formal request to expand its Bergermeer gas storage site, after the Dutch economy ministry ruled that an environmental impact assessment is not required, the company says. The ministry has decided that expanding the site in the Netherlands' Alkmaar region - which would allow for more gas to be stored - would not lead to "potentially significant adverse effects on the environment… based on measurements, studies and models of independent experts", Taqa says.
