Gassco makes progress on Barents Sea gas project

Recent progress on a Barents Sea gas infrastructure project is a “very good sign” of future investment potential in the Norwegian ofshore, system operator Gassco says. Gassco “only weeks ago” launched a project together with 10 companies to develop infrastructure in the Barents Sea, the frm’s chief executive, Frode Leversund, says. These companies, all of which are “more or less active” in the Barents Sea, are interested in fnancing the frst phase of the project, Leversund says. Gassco is still exploring both LNG and pipeline infrastructure solutions at this stage, Leversund says.
