Pulsar planets built from interstellar 'snow' drifts

Planets found orbiting pulsars may have formed from material that piled up as the pulsars moved through space like snow ploughs. That's the conclusion of Jane Greaves of the University of Cardiff and Wayne Holland of the UK Astronomy Technology Centre in Edinburgh, based on submillimetre-wavelength images of a pulsar 800 light years away called Geminga.
