Oral inosiplex in the treatment of cervical condylomata acuminata: a randomised placebo-controlled trial

Sir, I write to comment on the article by Georgala et al., which notes the efficacy of oral inosiplex in the treatment of cervical condylomata acuminata. I note that the terminology cervical CA is used throughout the article which is unfortunate, as in this health system, it can suggest cervical cancer. That not withstanding, I would like to point out that I have only seen a handful of women in my 28 years of experience in genitourinary medicine who I believe had warts only on the cervix. I have seen others where treatment or regression had eradicated condylomata that had been present in other areas of the genitalia, and I regard cervical warts in this situation as extraordinarily unusual.
