Sustainable water-reuse concept for industrial park developments in Southeast Asia

With more than half of its population living in urban areas, Southeast Asia has some of the largest and fastest growing cities of the world. Urbanisation has a huge influence on the development of new industrial parks as well as their expansion. Additionally, indus-trial parks play a significant part in urban developments. Several investigations have proven the extent of spillover effects to the local environment. Referring to the water shortage in several of these regions (such as China and Vietnam) and due to the increas-ing environmental awareness, sustainability of water use is becoming more important. Industrial parks have particularly high water requirements depending on their individual production plants and production processes.
